Forms of Supervision
There are several ways to set up supervision.
Distance supervision
You can send me your session by mail on the recorded media – CD, DVD, audio or video tape, flash media, etc – and I will return or destroy it after reviewing the session. Or if preferred, you can speed up the process by sending your audio or video file as a password-protected attachment using Pando. Either way, as I listen to your session, I’ll make a digital audio recording which will have the audio from your session, interrupted at points by my commentary with observations, suggestions and questions. I will send back an mp3 file as a Pando attachment, which you can download and listen to. This is the easiest to schedule, since we don’t have to find a common time to meet.
In-person supervision
If you’re within easy travel distance of Chicago, we can meet in person and review your work together. If you like, I can still make an audio recording of the supervision so you can review it again at a later date. This format allows for more give and take during the supervision. We can also have in-person supervision remotely. We’ll arrange a meeting time and view a segment of your session together by using the screen-sharing option in Skype. If you learn best with give and take in the moment you might prefer one of these options.
Live Supervision
Also known as “bug in the ear”. Consider this option if you would like to have in vivo supervision as you work with your couple. First, we schedule a time convenient for you, your couple and me. Then we open a Skype connection so I can see and hear your couple, and a phone line – with you wearing an earbud – so I can give moment by moment feedback to you during the session. In real time, I will then offer you suggestions to structure and focus the session with optimal timing of EFT interventions. Requires a camera and mic-enabled computer and broadband internet connection and a Skype account.
Group Supervision
If you have a group of colleagues interested in obtaining supervision, you can do this by distance via either Skype or a conference call. Or, if your group is local, we can all meet in person in a space provided by either of us.
